After owning my GTI for a couple months, I’ve finally decided that the red stripes in the front just don’t work for me anymore. With that, I decided to just go ahead and black them out. The colors just clashed too much for me, and I think the black makes it look so much more clean and simple.
All I did was put some black pinstripe over the red. I’ll leave it like that for a couple weeks and then peel it off and see what I think. If I prefer the black, then I’ll go ahead and have them painted. Until then, I guess I’ll enjoy what I have now. I don’t think I’ll wanna go back to the red though. It looks 10x better this way.

On the agenda for tomorrow:

-Remove the GTI badge from the back of my car.

-Paint the red pinstripe on the front of my car black.

I’ve heard doing the pinstripe is a HUGE pain in the ass, but I’m sure I’ll figure it out. Shouldn’t be too hard, right? (famous words before every install/project)

Also, I’m thinking about possibly buying a camera tomorrow. I can’t decide between the T3i or the D5000 (or D5100…whatever it is now). I have the money, I just can’t decide. I’m more familiar with Nikon, but I actually like Canon a lot better. The D5100 is a little cheaper though.

So, last Monday I went ahead and decided to do something with my car. It had been several weeks since my last upgrade, and I was itching to do SOMETHING! I didn’t care how small. I called up the guys that work for my dealership to go ahead and get the tint done on my car. It’s not a huge upgrade, but it was very much needed.
I have 35% on the sides and 20% in the back. Legal all the way around except for in the back (which I doubt anyone will be able to tell anyway). I don’t think there’s any need to go darker. Like I said before, it’s nothing major, but at least it’s something for now.
